If you’re headed to California, don’t forget to visit Los Angeles. While the city may be tough to live in for those who are looking to become stars, it is a must for those who want to see famous sites and enjoy the experience. Whether you’re all about traveling in cheap RV rentals or are catching a flight, it’s a destination that you should put on your bucket list.

For those who are fans of traveling in an RV, you may have the pressing question of where you can park it while visiting this fun yet busy city. Fortunately, there are some great Los Angeles campgrounds to take the worry out of your travels and put that wanderlust back where it belongs.

Whether you’re in town to visit Disneyland or want to stop on by Long Beach, there are campgrounds all over the place, so finding one for your location shouldn’t be too difficult. The following campgrounds are just a couple of great spots for you to check out.

Our 5 Favorite Campgrounds

1.Malibu Creek State Park

If you’re going to camp out in the L.A. area, you might as well do it in style. The Malibu Creek State Park allows you to be close enough to what you may want to experience in the city, but yet far enough to truly enjoy the great outdoors. There is plenty of opportunity for hiking and appreciating the scenery. Malibu Creek State Park is so gorgeous in fact that it is often used for movies. Who wouldn’t want to stay at a place like that? It even has sets still set-up making it an interesting experience. Plus, if you like fishing, you can enjoy trying to catch something at the Malibu creek.

2. Golden Shores RV Park

A conveniently located spot to stay at, the Golden Shores RV Park has most everything that you could need while staying there. With restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby, you can be sure to go out and about whenever you like. If you love being active, you’ll appreciate the bike trail that will allow you to leave your RV behind and cycle to your destination. While it isn’t the largest park around, the smaller size allows for a more relaxing experience.

3. Anaheim Harbor RV Park

This is the park for those who want to visit Disneyland. If you’re one of the families who likes to rent cheap RV rentals and travel the country, this RV park will provide you with comfort and close proximity to one of the most fun places to bring your kids. While the park may have a few downsides, such as the sewage placement and size of lots, it is so close to Disneyland, that you won’t mind adding onto your sewage hose. It also has the basic amenities that you could appreciate and an affordable price for a night’s stay.

4. Malibu Beach RV Park

If you love great views and the beach, forget the other ones on our list and only pay attention to the Malibu Beach RV park. While you may have to book way in advance to get that highly coveted view of the ocean below from your RV, it would definitely be worth it. For travelers who want a bit of security, this is it. While it is a bit pricey compared to others, the location and views are completely worth it.

5. East Shore RV Park

The East Shore RV Park is conveniently located, making it an ideal spot for those want to get to places quickly in the city. As you can imagine, it fills up quickly, so if you’re planning to visit Los Angeles, make sure to book ahead. While the park itself doesn’t have any restaurants, there are a few nearby. While it isn’t as fancy as some other places, it has everything that one would need for hookups, laundry, and restrooms. There is also a fabulous view of the lake. Pro tip: Make sure to leave windows closed and things locked up for the night as there are several nighttime animal prowlers looking for something to eat.

For those who travel in an RV, there are many wonderful things that happen because of it. From being able to spend the night in unique places to experiencing the pleasure of riding comfortably in a vehicle on the road, there is no other way to road trip quite as wonderfully.

If you are a fan of traveling in cheap RV rentals and are looking for a way to get to know more places, consider planning your RV campground stays beforehand. This way you can make sure that you get to stay at a great place with good prices and friendly staff. You also want to be sure to check locations, so that you’re near the places that you want to visit.
