Acquired or lifelong premature ejaculation (PE) affects millions of men worldwide. This disorder can be embarrassing and even cost relationships. While some experts have termed ejaculation as being premature if the relationships act doesn’t last more than 2 minutes, this is not always the case. Any intercourse whose duration is considered insufficient by one or both partners can be qualified as being premature. Many drugs have been developed to treat this condition, but very few have become as effective as Priligy Dapoxetine.

Initially developed by the Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals as an antidepressant, it was sold to Johnson & Johnson in 2003, which submitted it to the FDA in 2004 for approval for the treatment of premature ejaculation due to its fast absorption and rapid elimination from the body. It is available and marketed in various countries, such as Latin America, Mexico, European countries, and Asia. Priligy is one of the most preferable drug, which when taken before a relationships intercourse can lower the risks of PE.

It is known to control the volumes of unbound serotonin in the synaptic cleft resulting in lengthened relationships act. Dapoxetine is therefore classified under selective serotonin inhibitors and should only be taken with a doctor’s prescription. It can be bought from your nearby pharmacy or ordered from an online pharmacy like meds4sure. It is however important to check with the relevant authorities if it is allowed in your state or country before ordering from an e-pharmacy.

Priligy Dosage

Dapoxetine is classified under a group of drugs known as SSI-selective serotonin inhibitors. The inhibitors control the serotonin amounts in the brain, particularly in the synaptic cleft. With increased serotonin activity in the nervous system, one is more in control over ejaculation and can last longer in bed. It is however important to note that the precise mechanism of this chemical are still unclear

Priligy comes in two primary dosages: 30mg and 60mg. The latter (60mg tablets) are especially ideal for the correction of lifelong premature ejaculation but are believed not to have any significant impact on people with acquired PE. This drug should be taken strictly with a doctor’s prescription and within 1-3 hours of relationships intercourse. It should be taken with a lot of water, and the ideal dose should be limited to one tablet per day.

Abrupt discontinuation of medication is discouraged since it can result in withdrawal symptoms. Gradual reduction of the dosage guided by a physician is recommended to avoid adverse effects. Some patients may require a higher dose, but it is recommended that it doesn’t exceed 40mg per day. However, the ideal maximum dosage for long-run use is 60mg, which is idyllic for patients with lifelong PE complications and without contraindications. Note that plasma concentrations of the chemical may increase and be more prevalent in the elderly, patients with renal and hepatic impairment. In such cases, reduction in dosage is the only sure way to mitigate the effects.

Who Should Use Priligy?

As earlier mentioned, Priligy Dapoxetine lengthens the intravaginal ejaculation latency time. It is therefore designed and meant for men with various forms of premature ejaculation complications. Some patients may suffer from other closely related disorders like erectile dysfunction (ED). In such circumstances, the drug can be combined with other PDE5 inhibitors. It is a prescription only medicament that shouldn’t be used by persons with a history of alcohol and drug abuse.

Drug Interaction

Priligy shouldn’t be taken at the same time with any of the monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). However, in very rare and unique cases, the drug can be taken alongside linezolid, a non-selective MAO inhibitor that is reversible. In such circumstances, the blood pressure of patients and known symptoms of serotonin syndrome must be observed. Patients are advised to initiate treatment with Priligy two weeks upon discontinuation of irreversible MAOI, and not less than 24 hours for reversible MAO inhibitors. On the other hand, give a grace period of two weeks before initiating any MAOI treatment after discontinuing Dapoxetine therapy. It shouldn’t also be combined with drugs, such as Thioridazine that are known to inhibit hepatic enzyme CYP450 2D6 leading to elevated levels of plasma.

There is correlation between premature ejaculation (PE) and erectile dysfunction (ED). To this effect, several researches and tests have shown that Priligy and can be combined in specific quantities since they are compatible for the best results. It is believed that a combination of these two drugs, and other known PDE5 inhibitors solves both PE and ED conditions.

Side Effects

Users have reported various side effects after use of Dapoxetine. They vary based on the dosage, frequency and duration of usage. They include:

# Allergic reactions, such as angioedema that may be severe and fatal.
# Abnormal bleeding, especially of the mucous membranes and the skin.
# Syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH).
# Low appetite and increased levels of cholesterol in the body.
# Insomnia, somnolence, and agitation.
# Anxiety, hallucination, confusion and manic reactions.
# Rare cases of suicidal behaviors, especially after discontinuation of treatment.

Other known side effects may be a result of underlying disorders. They include tremor, dizziness, headaches, convulsions, serotonin syndrome, blurred visions, and symptoms associated with blood pressure. Discontinuation of the therapy may lead to withdrawal symptoms, emotional instability, sensory disturbance, diarrhea, and sweating. To avoid some of these adverse effects, patients are advised to discontinue therapy gradually and not abruptly.
